MEET THE SURVEYOR
Matthew A. Boozer, PLS, PS is a Professional Land Surveyor and Licensed FAA Remote Pilot, currently licensed to practice surveying in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Mexico. Matt graduated from Penn State University in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Surveying Engineering and minoring in Business. Matt's passion for surveying was ignited through a summer internship with Jones Consultants, LLC (2013). Throughout the internship, Ryan Jones, PLS, invested countless hours mentoring Matt to become a licensed surveyor and providing insights into business ownership. After graduation from Penn State, Matt worked as a Survey Technician at Dawood Engineering (2014-2016) under the direction of Scott Reeser, PLS, handling data processing/ quality assurance, plan preparation, and various project deliverables. Matt also worked for Douglas H. Bogdan, PLS, performing boundary and subdivision surveys in Northeast and Western Pennsylvania (2016-2017). Before becoming licensed in Pennsylvania, Matt worked for Jones Consultants as a Crew Chief (2017-2018) of oil & gas unit surveys, boundary and subdivision surveys, minor construction stakeout, and laser scanning as-built surveys.
Matt is an avid outdoorsman, enjoys history, has a love for mathematics (especially geometry), is a technology enthusiast, and has an appreciation for the small details in all above fields. These natural tendencies have bonded Matt to a genuine love for the art & science of surveying. For example, during a land survey, a good surveyor will thoroughly research the records and perform reconnaissance field work to find and precisely measure evidence that controls the boundary location. After establishing the location of the boundary using principles of law, the surveyor will prepare a map that graphically represents the final determination.
In May 2018, Matt married his best friend Karina, whom he met at Neath Church near LeRaysville, Pennsylvania shortly after completing college.
